CSA #8 USED Vert Pair (reconstructed from two singles and may have been part of a larger strip of 5 cut into singles). The two stamps are tied together by the Camden (Ark) CDS 1 OCT. The CDS is a bold strike but only the top half where “Camden” is easily seen, but the state designation is not on the stamps. However, the postmark is clearly the Camden, Ark CDS as I have included a photocopy of a known Camden, Ark CDS cropped from a well-known Trans-Mississippi cover for comparison. These stamps showing Arkansas usage are very scarce. |
|
|
|
CSA #8 USED (margins in to touching on all four sides and stamp has faults which are thins and a small edge scuff) with a neat strike of the VIOLET Augusta, Ga CDS (date not apparent). This stamp used with a violet postmark is very scarce as it is not listed in Dietz with the violet postmark but is listed in the current Scott but not priced. The faults notwithstanding, this is still a highly presentable stamp with what for this stamp is a very scarce postmark. CSA Certificate #4625 from 2005 signed by Jerry Palazolo. |

CSA #8 Horz Strip of 4 USED (margin touches at left). The strip appears to have been canceled by a period manuscript “(Mon)tpelier NC Jun 26th.” This was most likely originally a strip of five but one stamp has been removed some time in the past. Interesting item which certainly appears to be genuinely used with a manuscript town mark but difficult to prove off cover. |

A turned piece is most unusual. | $850.00 |

|
CSA #11 (KB) Horz Block of 12 (2 rows of 6) UNUSED with bottom sheet margin and full “No 1 Keatinge & Ball Bank Note Engravers Columbia SC” from the right pane. This is a very early printing of the KB stamps. If it was not for the presence of the imprint, these stamps would most certainly be identified as an AD printing as cross atching is clearly present. Full OG with small hinge remnants. Bottom sheet margin is cut close to the imprint but still a Very Fine item. |
|
|
|
CSA #11c (AD) Horz Block of 12 (2 rows of 6) (Greenish-Blue) UNUSED with bottom sheet margin and full imprint “No 1 Archer (Daly omitted) Bank Note Engravers, Richmond, Va" from the right pane. This is the most commonly seen form of the imprint as Daly’s name was removed from the plate after he left the firm. Bottom margin cut just a little close to the imprint at the right. Full OG and appears to be NH. Very Fine. |

|
![]() | CSA #11 (AD) Block of 4 UNUSED
(4-Margin) No Gum with the appearance of Laid Paper. A difference
of opinion exists over whether these stamps were ever printed on laid
paper. The Scott Catalog states that the so-called laid paper
variety was most likely due to “streaky gum.” That is clearly not
the case and much evidence exists to show that statement to be in
error. These stamps were printed on whatever paper happened to be
handy at the time. If laid paper was available, it too would have
been used. This block has had the gum removed a long time ago, and very
much appears to have been printed on laid paper. Very Fine. | $80.00 |
![]() | CSA #11 (AD) Vert Pair UNUSED (4-Margin) OG NH Very Fine. | $35.00 |
![]() | CSA #11c (AD) Vert Pair USED (margin just a little close at the top Greenish-Blue) tied to a small yellow paper piece by a partial strike of the Harrisonburg, Va CDS with a SEP date. Very Fine appearance. | $50.00 |

Full margins with right and lower sheet margins. No Gum as the gum was apparently soaked off some time ago to prevent toning and preserve the color. Very Fine. | $300.00 |
![]() | CSA #11 (KB) Horz Strip of 6 UNUSED. The lower sheet margin contains the full Keatinge & Ball Imprint from Plate No 2 from the left pane. The horizontal lower margin cut goes through the middle of the imprint. The strip has full OG and is NH but it is the typical heavy toned KB gum. Between the third and fourth stamp is a small period blue ink smear which appears to be a fingerprint very like left behind by one of the original printer’s helpers handling the sheet before the ink was dry. | $200.00 |
![]() | CSA #11 (AD) Block of 4 UNUSED (4-Margin) with very little gum remaining. Excellent standard blue color and a Very Fine appearance. | $45.00 |
