HANDSTAMP PROVISIONAL

Below is an example of a Handstamp Provisional. There is a distinct difference between a Handstamp Paid and a Handstamp Provisional. In order to be classified as a "Provisional," proof must exist either in the form of a known unused copy or written documentation such as a letter from the postmaster confirming that the particular postal marking was prepared in advance for sale and not just handstamped at the post office at the time of mailing.
