Asheville, North Carolina Mid-Year Gathering

13 OCT 2015 -- During the weekend of 9-10 OCT 2015, the Confederate Stamp Alliance met Asheville, North Carolina for the annual Mid-Year Gathering. Guests from the North Carolina Postal History Society were also in attendance. Click PHOTOS to see some pictures from the event. Host for the event was Tony Crumbley.

  • An active trading room composed of major dealers in CSA material saw much high level material change hands.
  • Formal presentations —
    •  "The Philatelic Forensic Laboratory at the National Postal Museum" by Tom Lera.
    •  "CSA North Carolina Provsionals - A Matter of Opinion" by Tony Crumbley.
    •  "Newbern, North Carolina Postal Service during the Civil War" by Maurice Bursey.
    •  "CSA Advertising Covers" by Larry Baum.
  • The traditional CSA Hospitality Room was sponsored by Schuyler Rumsey Philatelic Auctions.
  • The meeting closed with a wonderful dinner at the Stone Ridge Tavern with approximately 45 members and guests attending. Thanks to Schuyler Rumsey Philatelic Auctions and Robert A. Siegel Auction Galleries for sponsoring the dinner wine and drinks.
