10c Flag Essay lithographed and submitted by Hoyer & Ludwig of Richmond, Virginia, but never accepted as a postage stamp by the Confederate Post Office Department. Not Scott cataloged but appears in the Confederate Catalog as E-11 (10c Blue Flag). Examples of this essay are not seen all that often. I have only occassionally been able to offer one for sale. This example has 4 large margins and is Very Fine. Pencil notation on the back which appears to be an old Molesworth price code.
