CSA #7 Horz Pair USED (margin in at the bottom but with a right sheet margin tied to large piece by two strikes of the Bumpass VA C RR  (Virginia Central Railroad) CDS 1 MAR (1863). The large piece contains the full address to William Jerdone Esqr, Charles City Court House, Virginia. Excellent strikes of the railroad postmark.

William Jerdone (1805-1865) was a very wealthy planter who owned the James River plantation known as Mount Stirling (Sterling) in Charles City County. The plantation mansion that he built in 1851 still stands as a designated Virginia historical landmark but remains as a private residence.
