CSA #5 Carmine Rose USED (4-Margin) with the Richmond, Va CDS Powell Type 3a 14 JUL 1862. Small filled pinhole at upper right which does not detract from the overall Very Fine appearance. CWPS Certificate 2024 which attests to the Carmine Rose color shade and notes the filled pinhole. The stamp is signed "Richter" in small pencil on the reverse who was a German stamp dealer of times past when it was common for early dealers (especially European dealers) to pin stamps for sale on a corkboard thus accounting for the filled pinhole.
