The County of Camden (North Carolina) 25c Fractional Note Sept 9th 1862. This note is a period Upham Facsimile. The note is identified as an Upham Facsimile by the date (Sept 9th 1862), the Serial Number (71), and the misspelling of Carolina (Carolna).The Upham imprint was accross the bottom, so Samuel Upham from Philadelphia did not disguise the fact that he printed these notes. However, the imprint has been cut off from the bottom, and the note certainly appears to have circulated as genuine. Fine with horizontal central fold reinforced in the back with archival tape. One of the lesser known Upham Facsimiles which appears to have circulated as genuine.
