CC2716 Union Civil War Sutler's Script - Payment note for $2.00 to W. Copes Sutler of the 89th Regiment Ohio Volunteers signed by Charles Pickerel ("his mark" as apparently he could not write) (Private in Co A) with confirmation signed on the reverse by S. A. Glenn (Samuel A. Glenn) 1st Lieut Com(manding) Co A Very Fine.

Samuel A. Glenn entered service as a 2nd Lieut 7/11/1862 and was promoted 1st Lieut 10/2/1862 and Capt 1/24/1863. He is listed as captured as a POW at Chickamuaga 9/20/1863 and confined at Macon, Ga and Columbia SC. No further record except he is recorded as mustering out with his regiment in 1865. No information on Private Pickerel.
