Remington New Model Army 1861

Remington New Model Army 1861
  • Standard Army Model Serial #64717 (Serial Number Range 15000-147000 approximate).
  • 8" Octagonal Barrel, .44 Caliber 6 shot cylinder percussion.
  • The major competition to the Colt Army Revolver and the second favorite side arm of Union Officers. Even though not nearly as popular as the Colt, the overall design of the Remington is felt by many to be far superior to the Colt. The Remington has a far sturdier frame, and the cylnders can be exchanged out much more easily than the Colt.
  • Manufactured 1863-1875 under an 1858 patent but maintains the 1861 model designation.
