Comments about the web site: This is a wonderful
site that has
gotten the fire burning again for me to collect CSA stamps. It's very
informative and easy to use. I collected stamps as a teenager and have
a few CSA stamps, and began collecting again last year but was a bit
wary of CSA stamps because of all the forgeries. Your site has give me
confidence to purchase CSA stamps (already spotting a few fakes). This
site is on my "favorites" list. Thanks!!

Comments about the web site: thank you --- a nice
romp through
the forgeries. much enjoyed. I have a copy,i recall, of the fort
sumpter 'posted' twice on a #65 cover...resolves my old question about
it. my interests lean more towards the Federal patriotic
envelopes...tend to be partisan to the Union. also they are of great
variety, and more available. also, NYFM's , new york city foreign mail
cancels of the 1870's... i have a home-grown CSA fake story of my
own... i recently purchased on ebay a circa 1880 cover with a greyish
one-cent banknote. the sender had drawn in pencil a picture of a ship
at sea, with birds,etc. and waves..sort of like the 12cent 1869. i
commented to a friend that if the ship would be identified as the CSS
Alabama, and the Franklin seen as a true confederate definitive, it
would be SOME cover. Hope you enjoy sharing that droll phantasy...
anyhow, really enjoyed your webpage, will revisit and see more. thank
you again. d.lerner, late of the 27th Va. Vol. Inf., CSA, reenactment.

Comments about the web site: What a fantastic site,
especially
the fakes and forgeries. The "detective work" there lookss like fun
stuff. I came across a possible CSA cover at an estate sale in Richmond
VA last week. It has only a blue (maybe green, am I going color blind?)
Charleston SC postmark dated Jul 20 (no year) saying "5 cts" inside the
single circle. It is very heavily struck, though has a bit of a smear
to it. There are no additional postal marks on the envelope. So I am
imagining that it might be a provisional or a pre-stamped handstamp,
but I would be curious to know anything about different postmarks of
Charleston S.C. and when they were used. I started hitting the net to
see about this postmark and the only similar one I found was on your
site originating from Virginia somewhere (I forget, already). I am a
miniatures wargamer (toy soldiers) hobbyist and I enjoy gaming Civil
War battles, but the whole field of CSA postal history is an
interesting angle on historical things! Again, a great site, I suspect
only the updated Dietz's catalog could be a better overall resource.

English and Australian history link together through the gun. eg our
Ned Kelly went down, Colt Navy blazing.

I first met you in Mclean, VA a number of years ago, and have purchased
a few items from the web site...Tehn I saw the familiar logo on e-bay,
and had to stop in this evening..
The independent states collection is awesome, and must have been a
labor of love..I presently have a friend working on a book about the
last days of Johnstons Army in Tennessee, and I'm going to forward this
site on for background information
You should write a book or two youself!
Kind regards

Comments about the web site: Dear Sir:
The learning I found in your site is impressive. A relative gave me
various stamps, most of them turned out to be confederate fantasies
(Blockade, Houston, the Confederate flag, etc.). I would never have
found out for myself. Most of the others I believe I can safely think
of them as reprints; they do not match with the Scott illustration (the
PAID FIVE Greenville, Ala., town's name not in capital letters, etc.).
Still there are some for which I have still found no reference (they
are probably bogus too, like a Florida Express green stamp, and a 2
CENTS. blue in green paper with no name which more or less resembles
the (Mexican) Chiapas Provisionals).
I truly thank you; I spent a most instructive time. Please be assured
of my best regards.
Pablo

interest in the "fakes" of #6 bearing the ten-cents "denomination."

Comments about the web site: I picked up your sight
from an
E-Bay auction site out in Washington state that gave you a great rating
and recommendation. Since then, I have viewed several CSA oriented
sites and yours is by far the best and probably the best site I have
viewed of any stamp dealer. Many Kudos to you. I bought my very first
CSA stamps from you yesterday and truly look forward to receiving them.
I hope to buy all of the remaining general issues from you in time. It
is a pleasure to see someone honor the "old South" as well as you do.
Keep up the 'GREAT WORK' , and will look forward to new info and
articles from your site.

Comments about the web site: Found your site through
Google
purely by accident. Have ordered a few times and been very satisfied. I
collect Modern US stamps. I started in the 60's, stopped in the 70's,
and just resumed in 2008. Your site is easy to navigate, but I do wish
you would expand your supplies to include 2001-2008. Could you
recommend a site as friendly as yours for these later stamps? (No
plans to add stamps after 2000 as it is too difficult and too expensive
for me to keep up with all the new issues. The only one I know of who
handles all the new issues to date on the Internet is Mystic Stamp
Company which is a very large outfit. There may be others on the
Internet, but I do not know who they are. -- JLK)

Thank You, Thank You. This is by far the best all around and
informative website of CSA stamps and Confederate information in the
history of my stamp collecting, 40 plus years. You have saved me from
buying two forgery's' CSA# 5 and CSA# 2. There is so much information
to digest on this website that you have given me about a year of
information to ponder over. Also a reference point for the rest of my
remaining life. SO, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. You my dear doctor
should get an award for this site. From all of my heart I appreciate
the VERY HARD WORK you put into this site. Your new student and loyal
