CSA #11 (AD) (4-Margin) tied by the Culpeper C H, Va CDS 8 SEP (1863). Addressed to Mrs. M. Shook, Statesville, Iredell County NC. Wallpaper Adversity Cover with a multicolored linear border pattern which has been opened for display. Minor light foxing but still Very Fine. The cover was sent by Pvt Miles Washington Shook (1828-1901) home to his wife. Pvt Shook enlisted in Co B 2nd NC Cav 8/31/1861. In September 1863, the 2nd NC Cav was with the ANV and was in the Culpeper C H area. Pvt Shook transferred to Co F 38th NC Inf 4/1/1864 and servived the war returning to his home in Statesville.
