Roanoke Railroad Addressed to Miss Addie A. Worth Care of Hon
Jona (Jonathon) Worth, Raleigh NC. Small commercially made lady's
type cover with embossed flowers on the back flap.
Jonathan
Worth (1802-1869) was a prominent North Carolina polittician and served
in the state legislature and state senate before the war. Although
opposed to secession, he remained loyal to North Carolina and served as
the State Treasurer during the war and then as Governor of North
Carolina 1865-1869 during the early years of reconstruction. |
