CSA #11c (AD) Greenish-Blue (margin just touches at the right) tied by the BLUE Petersburg, Va CDS 7 AUG (1864). Light orange paper cover addressed to Mrs. Sarah E. Wike, Newton NC Catawba Co. The cover was most likely sent by Private Miles M. Wike of Co K 46th NC Inf to his wife. The unit was involved in the Siege of Petersburg. Private Wike was captured as a POW 4/2/1865 at Petersburg and held at Point Lookout, Md until released 6/22/1865. Backflap opening tears and a little light staining at the left but still an overall very clean appearance.
