CSA #70XU2 Richmond, Tex PAID 10 Provisional. The Richmond, Tex CDS dated 15 AUG (1862) is in BLUE and the provisional PAID 10 mark is in RED. Addressed to Columbus, Texas. The red PAID 10 mark is lightly struck on an orange paper cover but is still easily recognizable. The top edge where opened has been expertly repaired not affecting the postal markings. The name of the addressee is not present and may have been, for whatever reason, professionally removed at the time of the edge repair. Very clean appearance. CSA Certificate 1991 which does not mention the edge repair but only states "Genuine - address altered." Ex-Agre, Ex-Kaufmann.
