TN434 CSA #1c Stone A/B Olive Green 2 singles paying the 10c rate over 500 miles (both stamps with pre-affixing faults with one stamp being very faulty) tied together and to the cover by the BLUE Nashville, Ten CDS with a DEC (1861) date. Orange paper cover addressed to Mrs. Susan Elliott, Richmond, Virginia, Care of Mr. G. B. West. On arrival in Richmond, the cover was unclaimed. After a period of time, the Richmond, Va CDS was applied as well as the Richmond ADVERTISED 2 handstamp Type U. The CDS and the handstamp overlap. This indicates that the unclaimed cover was advertised (newspaper and/or broadside) as being available for pickup. The advertised fee was 2c. Cover with edge and top back flap faults. Even though the cover has faults and the stamps are faulty, the cover is a presentable representative example of an advertised postal use. $150.00
