Lazarus (1838-1884), a member of a very prominent Charleston Jewish
family, served with the Siege Train during the war. After the war, he
relocated to Baltimore and successfully engaged in business.

Manigault (1816-1875) of the prominent South Carolina Colonial
Manigault Family, commanded a unit of the Siege Train Artillery. He
kept a detailed diary of his time with the Siege Train which has been
