CSA #12 (AD) (4-Margin) tied by the BLUE Columbia SC CDS (date not apparent). Adversity Cover made from a printed but unused Charleston SC bank check displayed flapped down from the top. Cover from the Witherspoon Correspondence  addressed to Mrs. I. D. Witherspoon, Yorkville, So. Ca. Very clean cover. Ex-Harvey Teal. The addressee was the wife of Lieut Isaac Donnom Witherspoon (1833-1901) of Co A 12th SC Inf. The 12th SC Inf was an ANV unit and in Virginia, so the cover is most likely not from her husband but perhaps from another relative.
