CSA #11 (AD) (4-Margin) tied by the BLUE Columbia SC CDS 17 OCT. Light coarse brown paper cover addressed to Col D. W. Jordan, Laural Hill via Georgetown SC. Period docketing at the left "J P Southern Nails and Rice" most likely refers to the sender and the contents which are no longer with the cover. Very Fine. Daniel W. Jordan (1810-1883) was the owner of the Laurel Hill rice plantation in the Georgetown District and a prominent South Carolina landowner and businessman. The title of "Col" was honorary and not associated with the Confederate Army. A more detailed biography of Col Jordan is included with the cover.
