The addressee, John
Caldwell Calhoun II (1843-1918), was the grandson and namesake
of John C. Calhoun former Vice President of the United States
under Andrew Jackson and the Father of Secession. His father was A. P.
Calhoun. John C. Calhoun II was a large landowner and successful
businessman after the war. During the war, he served as Captain of Co C
4th SC Cavalry. |
