Manuscript "OB" (Official Business) under the stamp indicating private use. Military Address to Captain J. E. Spears, Col C.H. Stevens Regt, Charleston SC. The unit in the address is Co B 24th SC Inf. Advertising Cover with embossed colorless advertising at the left upper corner "DUNHAM, TAFT & Co. Manufacturers and Wholesale Dealers in Boots & Shoes, 148 Meeting St. Charleston, S. C." This advertising is catalog listed. Left side of the cover is just slightly irregular where the cover was opened. Very clean cover.
