CSA #1 Horz Pair Stone 1 Positions 5-6 (margin just touches at upper right and with an upper sheet margin) tied by the Darlington SC
CDS 3 MAY (1862). Stamps pay the double weight rate. Addressed to Hon
Wm H, Gist, Columbia, So. Ca. Period docketing at left "S. A. Wood
$3.37 enclosed no answer" naming the sender and indicating the cover
contained money. The docketing does not appear to be in the former
governor's hand so was most likely written by a secretary. Missing part
of top back flap, otherwise Very Fine.
