Military Address to Surgeon H. D. Fraser PACS (Provisional Army of the Confederate States), Aiken, So. Ca. Manuscript “Official Business” at upper right. Henry DeSaussure Fraser (1828-1895) of Charleston SC, a graduate of the South Carolina Medical College in 1851, entered Confederate service as an Assistant Surgeon in 1861. For much of the war he served as Surgeon in Charge of the Third Army Corps ANV field hospital and was on the staff of Gen A. P. Hill. Surgeon Fraser was captured at Gettysburg and held as a POW until released five months later. After the war, he returned to his practice in Charleston. Very clean cover. $175.00
