CSA #7 Horz Pair (margins irregular and affixed upside down) tied by an indistinct SC small double circle CDS (date not apparent). Advertising Cover with the stamps affixed over a blue and white oval corner car for "Williams, Birnie & Co., Grocers and Commission Merchants, Charleston SC." Addressed to Col. A. P. Calhoun, Pendleton SC. The addressee was the son of John C. Calhoun, and the title of “Col” was honorary and not associated with the Confederate Army. Few small erosion holes at the left which do not detract from the appearance, small reduction at the bottom, and part of bottom back flap missing. Very clean appearing cover.
