Period docketing dates the cover to 12 MAY 1864. Spectacular double railroad Adversity Cover made from a printed yellow paper illustrated railroad schedule (picture of a train on the inside) for the Virginia & Tennessee Railroad. Addressed to R. J. Lowry, Atlanta, Georgia. The addressee was a prominent banker in Atlanta. Part of top back flap missing, but still an exceptionally fine double railroad adversity cover which is a significant rarity.
