Stampless PAID cover with the Wartrace N&C RR (Nashville and Chattanooga Railroad) oval postmark and handstamp PAID 10 (arc) JUN 1863. The date number is missing. The Wartrace arc PAID 10 handstamp is listed in the CSA catalog but marked as "Unsupported." This cover certainly supports the listing. Believed to be the only known cover with this Wartrace arc PAID 10 handstamp. Addressed to Capt George Little, C. S. Central Laboratory, Macon, Georgia. The Confederate States Central Laboratory was a facilty constructed for the production and testing of ordnance and ammunition. The top back flap has been replaced with an excellent match, the left edge has been professionally restored, and the cover has been cleaned professionally to an overall very fine appearance.
