USA #26 tied by a partial strike of the Wartrace N & C RR (Nashville and Chattanooga Railroad) oval postmark 10 JUN 1861. A second strike of the same railroad postmark is at the left. Tennessee Independent State
posted two days after secession to Confederate Mississippi. Addressed
to Mr Lucien A. Webster, Holmes County, Mississippi. The Wartrace
railroad postmark used after secession during this period is listed in
the CSA Catalog as "Unsupported." This cover certainly supports
the listing. Small cover with part of top back flap missing and minor top edge repairs. Very clean
cover. Ex-Hannen CSA Railroad Collection.
