RR78 CSA #1 Stone 1 Positions 33-34 Horz Pair affixed upside down (4-Margin with a partial short transfer at the bottom right of the Position 34 stamp and a little light edge gum toning) with an exceptionally fine bold complete strike of the Estell Springs N & C RR (Nashville and Chattanooga Railroad oval postmark 23 NOV 1862. Wallpaper Adversity Cover with a yellow and brown pattern flapped for display. The address is faded to Mary E. -- (cannot make out the last name), Caledonia, Lowndes County, Mississippi. Routing instruction at the lower left "Via Columbus." This is certainly one of the finest, if not the finest, strike of the Estell Springs railroad postmarks still in existence.
