NC948 Stampless Soldiers DUE cover with the Goldsborough NC CDS 12 APR (1862) and manuscript "Due 10". The "Due 10" manuscript is listed as "Unsupported" in the CSA Catalog. This cover certainly supports the listing. Cover from the Cobb Correspondence addressed to Mrs. Howell Cobb, Macon, Georgia. Endorsed at top "John A. Cobb Aide-de-Camp". Address and endorsement are just a little light but still quite legible. Clean cover. Note on th back signed by Brian Green.

Lieut John Addison Cobb (1838-1923), a graduate of the University of Georgia, served in early 1862 as an ADC to his father, Brig-Gen (later Maj-Gen) Howell Cobb resigning in September 1862. This cover is addressed to Lieut Cobb's mother.
