CSA #4 Horz Pair Stone 3 Positions 21-22 (4-Margin with a left sheet margin) tied by the Rocky Mount NC CDS 14 OCT (1862). Light brown coarse paper cover, which appears to be homemade, addressed to Mr. William Grimes, Raleigh NC. Very Fine. William Grimes (1823-1884) was from a prominent North Carolina planter family and was the older brother of CSA Maj-Gen Bryan Grimes. William Grimes managed the family estates and was a prominent Raleigh businessman owning two Raleigh hotels, the Yarborough House and the Exchange Hotel.
