CSA #11 (AD) (4-Margin but stamp cut in half horizontally and affixed in two halves) tied by the Oaks NC CDS with an OCT date. Addressed to Mrs. J. C. Norwood, Lenoir, Caldwell Co. NC. Adversity Cover made from a printed but unused Savannah, Ga shipping document with the picture of a Sailing Ship inside and unfolded for display. Period pencil docketing at the top in light pencil written by the sender. "I have put my letter in this as I have no envelope at hand" which speaks to the paper shortage at the time. Reduced at left which does not detract, otherwise very fine.
