CSA #11c (AD) (4-Margin Greenish-Blue and affixed on the reverse to seal the backflap) tied to the cover by the usual weak but recognizable strike of the RED Raleigh NC small double circle CDS 5 MAY with a second complete strike of the CDS on the face of the cover. The stamp was not damaged in opening. Addressed to W. H Bogle Esqr, Taylorsville NC. Imprinted Semi-Official Envelope with “Adjutant General’s Office Roll of Honor” at upper right and “Official Business” at upper left. This is quite a scarce Confederate War Department Imprint and not a North Carolina State Imprint and is listed in the Confederate Catalog as WD-AG-10. A small part of the “e” of “Office” is cut off at right due to the printing as the cover is not reduced on the right. The imprint was just placed close to the right edge. The cover is slightly reduced at the left, but the small reduction does not affect anything. A little light spot foxing but still a very clean appearance. Notation on the reverse signed by Brian Green.
