CSA #68xu1 Raleigh NC Handstamp PAID 5 Provisional with the small double circle Raleigh NC CDS in BLUE 18 AUG (1861) and the PAID 5 Control Mark in RED. Addressed to Mrs. M. D. Withers, Greensboro, Alabama. The distance from Raleigh to Greensboro is more than 500 miles and required 10c postage. Manuscript "Due 5" added for underpayment and then crossed out as the extra 5c was paid at the time of mailing and the the control mark rerated with a manuscript "10." The Raleigh "PAID 5" provisional is not catalog listed with a rerated mark. Small but complete cover and Very Fine with excellent postal use. Molesworth note on the reverse.
