CSA #20XU1 Stampless PAID 5 Dalton, Ga Provisional (CC Type  B) dated 13 FEB 1862. Addressed to John B. Sauter (could be Suttler) Esqr, Tunnel Hill, Georgia. The cover has a Charge Box Notation as do a number of the Dalton Provisional Covers and is listed on the Crown Census with his chrage box proviso. Please review the Roth - Kimbrough article explaining the Charge Box notations especially with regard to provisional covers for a better understanding of the marking "Stampless Provisional Covers Having Charge Box or Similar Notations". Very Fine commercially made cover. Ex-Judd with his unsigned note on the back, Ex-Kaufmann. Tunnel Hill in Whitfield County still exists today as a small town. The name refers to a nearby railroad tunnel that was part of the Western and Atlantic Railroad.
