GA1280 CSA #11 (AD) Light Blue (4-Margin) tied by the Linton, Ga CDS 12 JUL. Adversity Cover made from a printed but unused Army form displayed with the left lower corner flapped up. Military Adress to Ivy W. Duggan, Q. M. Sergt 49th Ga, Richmond, Va. At left "49th Ga Reg, Thomas Brigade, Wilcox Division." Minor reduction with a little wear at the left edge. Very clean cover.

Ivy (Ivey) Walker Duggan (1831-1917) entered service as a private in the 15th Ga Inf in July 1861. In October 1862, he transferred to the 49th Ga Inf as the Quartermaster Sergt and served the remainder of the war with that unit. He was highly educated and taught at various Georgia schools after the war. His papers and letters are archived at Emory University in Atlanta.
