GA1279 CSA #4 Horz Pair Stone 3 Positions 1-2  (Light Milky Blue and cut into the design at the top). The Position 1 Stamp on the left shows the "Leaking N" variety which defines the position (CC 4-3-v3). The pair is tied by a partial strike of the Good Hope, Ga CDS (date not apparent), a very obscure CSA listed post office in Walton County. Coarse brown paper cover with Military Address to Mr. M. S. Jobson Care of Col G. T. Anderson, 11th Ga Regiment, Richmond, Virginia.

M. S. Jobson enlisted as a private in Co K 11th Ga Inf 7/3/1861. He served for the duration and surrendered with his unit at Appomattox 4/9/1865. No other information available.

Col George Thomas "Tige” Anderson (1824-1901) of the 11th Ga Inf was later promoted Brig-Gen on 1 NOV 1862. He was severely wounded at Gettysburg but recovered and served to the end of the war. After the war, he went to Atlanta and ultimately became the Atlanta Chief of Police and spent his final years as the County Tax Collector and Chief of Police in Anniston, Alabama.
