GA1205 Stampless Soldier's Due cover with the Atlanta, Ga CDS and handstamp arc DUE 10 Type C 4 OCT 1862. Addressed to Capt John O'Neill, Montague, Montgague County, Texas. Endorsed at left "From J. S. O'Neill of the Eleventh Regiment of Texas Dismounted Cavalry (11th Tex Cav)." Very clean appearing cover with a small reduction at the right where opened, and a small sealed right lower diagonal corner tear Ex-Kaufmann.

J. S. O'Neill enlisted as a Sergt 7/1/1861 in Co G 11th Tex Cav. No further record. The addressee is presumably the soldier's father or perhaps another relative. The rank of "Capt" was a Texas State rank as Capt John Q. O'Neill of Montague County, Texas, is listed as commanding a company of  Texas State Troops known as O'Neill's Frontier Guards, Montague County, 21st Brigade, TST (Texas State Troops).
