Pleasants Woodson White (1820-1919) is listed on the Federal Census of 1860 as a lawyer in Quincy, Florida. He was commissioned Major PACS in 1861 and served on the CS Army General Staff. In 1863 and 1864, he was the Chief Commissary for the State of Florida. A real problem for Major White was the shortage of beef for the troops. C. F. Stubbs was the commissary agent in Lake City who wrote letters to Major White complaining about the beef shortage and other things. After the war, Major White was active in Florida politics.
