Pleasants Woodson White
(1820-1919) is listed on the Federal Census of 1860 as a lawyer in
Quincy, Florida. He was commissioned Major PACS in 1861 and served on
the CS Army General Staff. In 1863 and 1864, he was the Chief
Commissary for the State of Florida. A real problem for Major White was
the shortage of beef for the troops. C. F. Stubbs was the commissary
agent in Lake City who wrote letters to Major White complaining about the
beef shortage and other things. After the war, Major White was active in
Florida politics. |
