Stampless PAID cover "Brooksville, Fla Nov 23 1861" and "Paid 5" all in manuscript. Addressed to Maj M. C. Peterson, Tallahassee, Fla. This manuscript Brookville "Paid 5" is not listed in the new CSA catalog. But this cover is listed in the Briggs Census as one of only two Brooksville Paid 5 covers. This one is "Paid 5" and the other listed cover is "Pd 5cts." There are a total of 13 Brooksville covers in the Briggs Census. These two covers, one "Pd 10," one "Paid 10," and the remaining covers are stamped. No information on the addressee. Minor edge wear. Very light edge stain at bottom center. Very clean cover.
