FL258 CSA #7 (2) (Two 4-Margin singles arranged to appear as a pair) tied by a beautiful full strike of the Welaka, Fla large double ring dateless CDS with manuscript “Feb 22 (1863)” to the left. The cover is from the well-known and well-documented  Bryant-Stephens Correspondence with Full Military Address to Capt Winston Stephens, Co B 2nd Fla Cav, Camp Finigan, Fla. Cover shows some light water staining at left and a small ink erosion under the manuscript date. Beautiful stamps and a superb strike of a scarce Florida fancy postmark. The Briggs Census lists 15 Welaka covers with the #7 stamps. This cover was used as an illustration on Page 70 of Conrad Bush’s Fancy and Unusual Cancel book. Ex-Bush Fancy Cancel Exhibit.
