FL178 CSA #1 Stone 2 Plated as Position 26 (4-Margin but a little close at the bottom with a little minor gum toning) tied by a full strike of the Pensacola, Fla CDS 10 MAR (1862). Orange paper cover address to Mrs. M. E. Conoley, Selma, Ala. The sender was Lt Col John F. Conoley (1811-1883) of the 4th Ala Infantry Battalion (consolidated shortly after this letter was written into the 29th Ala Inf) a Gulf Coast unit that was in Pensacola at this time. John F. Conoley was promoted Colonel of the 29th Ala Inf on 12/9/1862. The 29th Ala Inf later joined the Army of Tennessee in 1864 and fought from the Atlanta Campaign through to Bentonville. Cover with a very clean appearance. $600.00
