Adversity Cover made from a ruled unused Ledger Page with the ruled lines both on the inside and the outside of the cover. William Ephraim Smith (1829-1890) was a Georgia planter, lawyer, and politician. At the beginning of the war, he served as a lieutenant (later captain) in the 4th Ga Inf until 1863 when he was elected as a representative to the Second Confederate Congress. After the war, he served as a US Congressman from Georgia 1875-1881. Very clean cover. $500.00
