USA Star Die with Patent Lines and a Target Cancel with the Selma, Ala, integral pre-war 3 PAID CDS to the left 16 FEB (1861) USA Used in CSA Alabama 12 days after the formation of the Confederate government. Addressed to Col J. Crown (unsure of the name due to the handwriting), Greensboro, Ala. A little arithmetic at the left, and an original torn piece at the top center edge replaced and sealed in place to a quite acceptable appearance. Ex-Koppersmith Collection and believed to be one of only five recorded USA Used in Alabama uses from Selma.
