AL632 USA 3c Red Nesbitt Postal Stationery with a somewhat weak but recognizable strike of the Uniontown, Ala CDS 26 MAR (1861 by period receiving docketing at the left) USA Used in CSA Alabama. Addressed to Col. A. P. Calhoun, Pendleton Village, South Carolina. The addressee was the son of John C. Calhoun, and the title of “Col” was honorary. There is no enclosure, but from the handwriting, the cover is from A. Walker who was Col Calhoun's overseer and manager of his Alabama properties at this time. Minor back flap opening tear.
