AL626 CSA #1 Stone 1 Position 4 (4-Margin) tied by the small double circle Mobile, Ala CDS 14 APR 1862. Yellow paper cover addressed to G. E. Sealey Esqr, Cushing PO, Alabama. Minor reduction at the left where opened. Extremely Fine Appearance.

Garrett E. Sealey of Cushing (Tuscaloosa County), Alabama, enlisted in Co F 41st Ala Inf 5/1/1862 (about 2 weeks after the date of this cover) when the regiment was formed and organized in Tuscaloosa,, Alabama. The regiment's first action was the Battle of Murfreesboro (Ten) 12/31/1862 - 1/3/1863. Pvt Sealey was wounded in that battle and reportedly died of his wounds not long after the battle (date not recorded). Cushing, Alabama, apparently no longer exists. No further information.
