CSA #58x1 Mobile 2c Black Provisional (margin touches at the left and small nicks at the top margin) tied by the small Mobile, Ala double circle CDS 22 MAR 1862. Mobile Drop Letter addressed to Miss Maggie Marshall Care Mr. Wm T. Marshall, Mobile, Ala. Very minor reduction at the left and a backflap opening tear. Blue lined on the inside commercially made small ladies stationery. Notation on the back "12/27-88 Genuine Durbin & Hanes" The date is 1888. Durbin & Hanes was a prominent Philadelphia stamp dealership at the end of the 19th Century and apparently sold the cover in 1888. Very clean cover. Ex DK Collection.
