AL487 CSA #12f (AD) (perforated on left and bottom with straight edge top and right) tied by two strikes of the Demopolis, Ala CDS (one dated 10 JAN and the second dated 11 JAN). Coarse brown paper cover addressed to Mrs. R. C. Pettigrew, Eutaw Green Cty, Ala. The stamp is from Postion 10 (right end stamp in the top row) as the top and sides of the sheet typically were not perforated. Accompanying the cover is a note from an old time stamp dealer, Robert Nelson, dated 11/23/1920 in which he states that he has seen such a full sheet of the perforated stamps with the top and sides not perforated and that the sheet was then owned by L.
