CSA #4 Block of 16 (4 rows of 4) Stone 2 Plated as Positions 17-20,
27-30, 37-40, 47-50 UNUSED (clear margins all around including a right
sheet margin). The large block still has almost full Original Gum which is
heavy, toned, and streaked as is to be expected as the gum was very poor to
begin with. The Position 17 stamp at the upper left has had a small piece of
the upper left corner expertly reattached, the Position 20 and Position 47
stamps have small pinholes most likely resulting from an early dealer
displaying the block on a cork bulletin board, and the Position 40 stamp has
a large thin. Such intact large multiples of the Stone Lithograph stamps are
very scarce items, and this one despite the few faults still has an overall
Extremely Fine appearance.
