42 USED (margin touches at the top) tied to small orange
paper piece by a full strike of the smaller 29mm single rim Charleston SC
CDS 27 JAN (1862). This particular Charleston postmark is a pre war
mark and is seen used in the Confederate period only very rarely. The
standard single rim Charleston postmark used in the Confederate period
is 32mm. Very Fine Appearance.
