Fort Worth, Texas Mid-Year Gathering

17 OCT 2012 -- During the weekend of 12-13 OCT 2012, the Confederate Stamp Alliance met in Fort Worth, Texas for the annual Mid-Year Gathering. Approximately 42 Confederate Stamp Alliance Members and Guests gathered together for the traditional annual Confederate Philatelic Weekend. Hosts for the event were John L. Kimbrough MD and Conrad L. Bush.

• An active trading room composed of major dealers in CSA material.
• Formal presentations -- "The Papers of James H. Starr" by Vince King and "The Great Texas Stamp Collection" by Charlie Deaton.
• The traditional CSA Hospitality Room throughout the course of the meeting was extremely active.
• The weekend was kicked off by a Texas Barbecue at the home of the host, Gen Kimbrough, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
• The meeting closed with a traditional Texas Chicken Fried Steak Southern Supper at the hotel.
• Fort Worth, the City of Cowboys and Culture, was explored by many of the attendees. A group guided tour of the very excellent Texas Civil War Museum was enjoyed by 23 attendees on Friday afternoon.

CSA Generals in attendance were Gen Patricia Kaufmann, Gen Frank Crown, Gen John Kimbrough, Gen Conrad Bush, Gen James Monroe, Gen Rex Felton, Gen Tony Crumbley, Gen Jerry Palazolo.
