Fredericksburg, Virginia Mid-Year Gathering

27 OCT 2014 -- During the weekend of 24-25 OCT 20143, the Confederate Stamp Alliance met in Fredericksburg, Virginia for the annual Mid-Year Gathering. The traditional annual Confederate Philatelic Weekend was held as a joint meeting with the Virginia Postal History Society. Hosts for the event were Peter Powell and Bill Shuleeta for the CSA and Wayne Farley for the VPHS.

• An active trading room composed of major dealers in CSA material saw much high level material change hands.
• Formal presentations -- "The 3c Confederate Provisionals" by Jim Monroe and "Confederate Postal History of Fredericksburg" by Keith Littlefield.
• The traditional CSA Hospitality Room was sponsored by Schuyler Rumsey of Schuyler Rumsey Philatelic Auctions.
• The meeting closed with a wonderful dinner ar the Bavarian Chef restaurant in the historic Fredericksburg train station. Thanks to Schuyler Runsey for sponsoring the dinner wine and drinks.
• The meeting hotel was located in the historic district of Fredericksburg and very close to the battlefield with easy access to all the historical sites.
